Your project, as with most nonprofit organizations, will at some level rely on grants from public and/or private sources. There are plenty of grant opportunities available, but the questions is: where do you start looking? We recommend using the free resources below to begin your search.
Online Directories

Local Libraries
Foundation Directory Online and other databases can be accessed through Foundation Center’s Funding Information Network, a network of libraries, foundations, and nonprofit resource centers that provide free access to popular donor and foundation databases. Click here to find a location near you.
Tax Form 990
Another way to find foundations that might give to your organization is to sift through a similar organization's Tax Form 990. The 990 is the tax return that tax exempt organizations must send to the IRS. On this form, nonprofit organizations must provide a list of received grants and funders. There are several sites where you can access 990s for free.
