Partnership with Candid.

Dear Fiscally Sponsored Partners,

We would like to inform you of a potential partnership with Candid., the company that manages GuideStar, that will allow funders to look up fiscally sponsored projects when they are considering funding. We know that today, fiscally sponsored projects do not have the same visibility as independent nonprofits, possibly limiting their access to funding and other benefits. This partnership would change that.

We understand that this partnership is coming at a time when you might be concerned about what information is shared about your project. Your participation is optional. If you have questions or would like to speak to someone, please reach out to me at [e-mail]

What does participation mean
Candid has launched a pilot program to collect data on fiscally sponsored projects. Listed projects will have searchable profiles for donors and funders to access to make giving decisions. Starting January 2025 projects listed on Candid will enjoy:

• Increased visibility: A wide variety of potential funders leverage the Candid profile to find organizations to support, including foundations, donor-advised funds (DAFs), and individual donors.
• Increased legitimacy: By having a public profile and being listed alongside nonprofits, you can inspire trust and confidence in your work.
• Free access to Candid’s fundraising tools: Fiscally sponsored projects that earn a 2025 Bronze Seal of Transparency will get free access to Candid’s fundraising tool for one year.

How to participate
Candid will only display and share projects’ data with their consent. If you would like to have a Candid profile, please email [e-mail] by Friday, March 7th. We will share basic information about your work with Candid and permit them to create and display a Candid profile on your behalf (you can see the information we’re being asked to provide here). In your email response, please confirm whether you also consent to having this information shared with Candid partners, including Every.org, which would increase your visibility on other platforms.
