Coverage
The insurance rates for your project are determined based on a number of factors. The administrative fees cover a portion of your general liability insurance rate. Since your project conducts activities that are unique to your work, additional coverage may be required. The rates for this additional coverage may be passed along to your project. Additional coverage and fees may be incurred for the following:
- Property - if your project rents space or owns equipment
- Events - if your project hosts fundraiser, community gatherings, or other events
- Improper conduct - if your project works with vulnerable populations
- Social service professional liability - if you have licensed social service professionals, including counselors or therapists.
Cost
Community Partners purchases insurance for over 150 projects and the collective rate allows Community Partners to make insurance coverage available to projects at rates that are typically lower than rates available to independent nonprofits, another example of the benefits of economies of scale offered to projects of Community Partners.
The total premium for your project will be determined by Community Partners' insurance carrier after reviewing your submitted annual project report. Please make sure to disclose all activities for the coming year in that report. Providing complete information in the report helps ensure your project is properly covered and can help avoid additional costs if coverage needs to be added later.
