Can we work with volunteers under age 18?

Yes, but Community Partners and your project need to ensure the safety and well being of all volunteers, especially those volunteers under eighteen years of age.

Volunteers under the age of 18 must provide a signed Release and Waiver of Liability Form to the project (and this in turn should be transmitted to [e-mail]) prior to serving in a volunteer capacity.

Minor volunteers can help with activities, hand out materials and participate in program events, between the hours of 6am and 10pm. Special permission should be obtained from the Community Partners HR and/or Risk Management team for any overnight or other volunteer position outside these hours.

Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a guardian who is an approved adult volunteer (The adult must also register as a volunteer and undergo a background check).
