Liability Waivers are written agreements that state that the sponsor of an activity will not be liable for harm suffered by participants.
Projects should use liability waivers whenever they host an event that includes any of the following:
- Physical activity (hiking, dancing, performing, etc.)
- Field trips/ off-site travel
- Minors/youth programs
If you are hosting an event, Community Partners asks projects to have the event participants sign the liability waiver form.
How should liability waivers be used?
Community Partners' liability waiver form can be customized to meet the specific needs of a project's activity. If someone refuses to sign a waiver prior to the activity, that individual may not participate in the activity.
Liability waivers cannot be signed by minors. Activity participants under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
