Live Scans are background checks that encompass many different aspects of a person’s potential fit for a position. A negative result (particular criminal history) is not necessarily a bar to being hired.
Community Partners considers a number of factors when reviewing negative Live Scan results: the nature of any negative results, when an offense was committed, age of the individual, and other circumstances. Live Scan results are reviewed with consideration of the totality of circumstances and the specific role for which the individual is applying.
Should Community Partners receive information that might result in the withdrawal of your candidate's offer of employment, Community Partners will notify the candidate in writing of the possibility of adverse action being taking based on their Live Scan results and allow them five (5) days to respond and provide any additional information they deem relevant or necessary for Community Partners to consider.
Project employees, volunteers, or contractors who work directly with a vulnerable population (seniors, youth under 18, formerly incarcerated people, homeless people, people with mental health issues, or people with disabilities) must have a Live Scan completed.
If you have questions or wish to discuss a specific case, please email hr@CommunityPartners.org.
