Community Partners encourages and supports projects advocating for policy and systems change, including all permissible lobbying activities.
If your project is lobbying or you are not sure if it is lobbying, please contact our Insurance team at insurance@CommunityPartners.org. To influence legislation, each project must follow specific procedures to meet local, state, and federal lobbying regulations.
Community Partners files lobbying reports on a quarterly and annual basis.
Community Partners is required to report all City lobbying activities and expenditures on a quarterly basis. The city of Los Angeles has a strict definition of lobbying: Any activity attempting to influence the city of Los Angeles action or legislation is considered lobbying.
Community Partners also files IRS tax form 990 each year which includes a report on lobbying activities for state and federal purposes. Any attempt to influence legislation must be included in this report. Please make sure to connect with our insurance team at insurance@CommunityPartners.org to discuss your lobbying activities.
