When does Community Partners close?
Community Partners recognizes 13 paid holidays each year (including two days designated by the President and CEO). Consecutive closures take place mostly during the months of November, December and January in observance of federal holidays. Community Partners’ offices close for the holidays. The exact dates will be shared with projects in the fall. As this time approaches, projects will receive an updated list of deadlines for their check processing, contract, insurance, payroll, new hire and deposit schedules to ensure they are implemented within the appropriate calendar year.
Will checks for my project still be deposited during a closure?
Yes, as long as your check is sent to our Lockbox with Bank of America, your funds will automatically be deposited. Learn more about the Lockbox here.
Will my employees and I still get paid during the closure?
Yes, payroll will run as usual during all office closures.
Who can I talk to if my project is experiencing a crisis during the closure?
If you have a more urgent problem during this time – a critical issue regarding finances, perhaps, or an employee – that truly cannot wait until after the holidays, we have staff on hand monitoring several emergency email inboxes.
My funder accidentally mailed a check to Community Partners’ offices rather than to the Lockbox. The funds need to be deposited this calendar year! What do I do?
All checks mailed to Community Partners’ offices during the December-January holiday closure will be deposited in the new year. However, according to IRS guidelines for tax purposes, a donor can claim the deduction in the year they write the check. The deposit date does not impact when the deduction can be taken. For example, if a donor writes a check on December 24th, 2023, and mails it to Community Partners, we will receive it on January 2, 2024 and will not deposit it until January 3, 2024. The donor can still claim the deduction in 2023 since that is when they wrote the check.
My project needs to terminate an employee as soon as possible, but you’re closed. What do I do?
Leave a message with HR’s emergency email inbox, and a member of the HR team will contact you.
Can I use the workstations or conference rooms while Community Partners is closed?
No. Workstations and conference rooms are unavailable during a holiday closure and the Community Partners office is closed due to Covid-19.
