Community Partners is the legal employer of record for all full-time, part-time, on-call, and temporary project employees. As a project of Community Partners, you cannot legally employ any staff without having them hired by Community Partners. Community Partners is legally accountable for assuring that all required employment practices are observed. All employees of Community Partners are required to sign an official offer letter as a condition of employment and must abide by the policies and procedures set forth in the Community Partners Employee Handbook and in the online Project Handbook. Only Community Partners sets the terms of employment, which are contained in the offer letter and employee handbook along with any additional policies. No Project Leader, staff member, volunteer, or project advisory board member may make any representation to the contrary or implement changes to an employee's terms of employment without written approval from the Community Partners director of human resources.
The Project Leader is required to consult with human resources before hiring or taking any disciplinary action (including termination) against an employee. Please also talk to a human resources staff member before drafting any employment- related communications (such as job descriptions or offer letters); an authorized Community Partners representative must review and approve all such employment-related communications to assure compliance with all legally mandated employment and termination practices. In many cases Community Partners may already have a template for you to use.
